Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
The first taste of Georgian cuisine is lunch at a national restaurant, where you will be offered to taste the most famous dishes of Georgian national cuisine and drink Georgian wine.
Getting to know a city full of life – this is how Tbilisi will greet you.
We will visit: the Metekhi plateau, from where a view of the old city opens, the Narikala Fortress of the 4th century, the Bath Quarter, the Square of 3 Churches (a place where an Orthodox church, a synagogue and a mosque coexist nearby). We will walk through the old streets, with many cafes, galleries, souvenir shops, etc. We will also see a modern glass bridge – a symbol of friendship and peace, which connects the narrow streets of the Old Town with Rike Park.
We go up the funicular, from where the whole city is visible at a glance. There we will also visit Mount Mtatsminda, which translates as “Holy Mountain”, where we will visit the Church of St. David and see the grave of A.S. Griboedov.
You can have dinner in the city restaurant for an additional fee (Georgian cuisine with wine).
Day 2
After breakfast, we head to the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta (25 km).
On the way, visit the Jvari Monastery (VI century), which stands on a high mountain and was immortalized by Mikhail Lermontov in the poem “Mtsyri”.
Next, Mtskheta, we visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – the pride of our architecture, built in 1010-1029, on the burial site of the Robe of Christ.
Lunch with wine at the restaurant “Salobie”.
Transfer to the hotel.
Day 3
Excursion around Kakheti.
After breakfast, departure to Kakheti – the homeland of wine!
Through the Gombori pass (height 1620 m) arrival in Telavi (the road to Telavi is 100 km), inspection of the city.
Visit to Tsinandali, the house-museum and estate of Alexander Chavchavadze, explore his residence and take a walk in the park.
Departure to Kvareli.
Tasting of modern vintage wines and lunch at the Kindzmarauli winery.
Return to Tbilisi.
